Ancient pilgrimage route, “Kumano Kodo”

    Ancient pilgrimage route,”Kumano Kodo” The path of the pilgrims “Kumano” was used from the Heian period. Finding of paradise, peoples walked in the long route of Kumano Kodo  to a sacred land. The “Sacred sites and pilgrimage routes in the Kii mountain range” is designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004. Only during this year, you can available a special calligraphy stamp with golden ink at Kumano shrine.
