Based in Kyoto’s historic Fushimi district—a neighborhood renowned for its centuries-old sake breweries, vibrant local dining, and charming walkable streets—Éclat Japon welcomes you into the timeless heart of Japan.

Our home is a traditional kyo-machiya (Kyoto townhouse) dating back over a century. Once part of the local sake-brewing heritage, the space preserves echoes of the past with antique brewing tools, historic swords, and a heritage Buddhist altar.

The name Éclat (榮くら) pays homage to “Eishu” (榮酒), a cherished sake brand once crafted by the Fujiwara Brewery, pairing this ancestral Kanji with the French word Éclat (brilliance). We invite travelers from around the world to step inside, experience the living history of Kyoto, and discover an authentic atmosphere untouched by time.
